Pushing boundaries, forming a common Europe: The double system locomotives of the class 181.2 ran from 1974 to Luxembourg and France for famous trains such as the "Mozart", the TEE "Goethe" or the night train from Moscow to Paris. The locomotives of the class 181.2 pulled passenger and freight cars from all over the world for decades and switched easily but reliably between current systems: At the border, the driver drove to the German pantograph, quickly overcame a section without current and then used the French current. Incidentally, the elegant, low locomotive is the result of the lower French overhead line. The fascinating 181.2 has written European history, and it will continue to do so on many Märklin layouts: as a truly limitlessly interesting model.

Driver's cab lighting and engine room lighting that change over with the direction of travel can be switched off digitally. Lighting with maintenance-free warm white and red LEDs. Pantograph can be moved up and down digitally. Separately mounted wheel limits, grab rails, windshield wipers, UIC sockets and roof cables. Buffer height according to NEM.
