Faller - 130820 - H0 - Bran Castle - Large Set
Anniversary model with limited edition "75 years of FALLER"
A true-to-original model of Törzburg, built in the 14th century in the municipality of Bran in Transylvania, Romania, as a defensive structure and later converted into a royal residence.
The castle's configuration with its irregular layout and lush roofline was created by multiple renovations and extensions over the centuries. The inner courtyard with half-timbered elements, enclosed on the north side by the high square main tower with a lean-to roof and roof turret, on the east side by the main residence with a roof terrace and solid natural stone outer wall, and on the south side by the gatehouse with a guardhouse and large free-standing staircase to the castle, an projecting stair tower with a conical roof, as well as an annex for park access and a battery tower with a round tower with a conical roof placed on top as the southwestern closure.
The model is suitable for installation as both a hilltop castle and a lowland castle. The castle, now used as a museum, is closely associated with the legend of the vampire Count Dracula. According to myth, the historical figure Vlad III, then ruler of the principality of Wallachia and possibly the inspiration for Bram Stoker's famous novel character, used the castle as his residence.
