Piko 22007/-08/-09 - NS Rh 500 - IV - "Hippel" Green - DC/AC / Sound

New 2026: Between 1946 and 1989, the 500-class diesel-electric locomotives dominated daily operations at the Dutch State Railways (NS). A total of 45 units were in service – reliable, powerful, and unmistakable. The first ten units (nos. 501-510) arrived in the Netherlands immediately after World War II via the British War Office. The striking gray three-axle locomotives quickly became indispensable shunting aids – particularly at major stations such as Utrecht, Zwolle, and Rotterdam Feijenoord. Due to their high reliability, the NS quickly expanded its fleet: another 35 locomotives (nos. 511-545) followed, initially in classic olive green and, from the 1970s onward, in modern yellow-gray.
