Märklin description:
The new close coupling is specially designed for newly designed locomotives with a prototypical lower buffer beam and therefore a lower buffer height from the top of the rail (according to NEM 303) to ensure that the close coupling system is swung outwards under the buffer plate. The new close coupling fits all common Märklin couplings.
