Central Station 3 offers as a multi-protocol control unit, with the modern high-resolution colour touch screen, 2 speed controllers and integrated central model control panel, the possibility for simple and convenient control of the locomotives and the entire system. Up to 32 functions can be switched on locomotives, up to 320 Motorola or 2048 DCC solenoid-controlled items are possible with accessories.

Central Station 3 also has 2 built-in locomotive card readers (for saving locomotive data on a locomotive card or for quickly calling up the locomotive by inserting the locomotive card), an SD card reader for expanding the memory and an integrated speaker for playing model railway sounds. A powerful booster is integrated for supplying the system with driving and switching current.

Central Station 3 is multi-device capable, i.e. with the optional cable (60123) additional Central Stations 3 plus (60216), with a suitable network connection, can be used together in one system. Additional control panels, more layouts and keyboards further expand the system, whereby joint and separate configurations for the system parts to be controlled in Central Station 3 (plus) can be used.

The Central Station 3 has 2 built-in USB hosts (e.g. for mouse, keyboard, USB stick), a USB charging socket, a network connection for communication with a PC, connections for 2 Mobile Stations, a connection for external speakers and other connections for the Märklin bus system. S88 connections can be made externally via link s88 (60883).

Load capacity on connection track: max. 5 A, load capacity on programming track: max. 1.2 A. Central Station 3 can only be operated together with power supply 60041 (60101 for track 1 and L51095 for LGB) (not with transformers such as 60052). When using adapter 60041, the maximum output power of 58 VA and a maximum current of 3 A are achieved (with 60216 with adapter 60101/L51095 a maximum current of 5 A is achieved, only recommended for track 1/LGB. Please make sure that the cable cross-section is greater than 0.5 mm²!). Power supply is not included. Dimensions: 320 x 195 x 80 mm.
