The Märklin 39390 is a detailed H0 model of the class 39.0-2 steam locomotive of the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB), executed in the state around 1964. This locomotive, originally developed as the Prussian P 10, was intended to pull heavy passenger trains in hilly areas. The model is equipped with an mfx decoder and a sound module, as well as a Softdrive Sine high-efficiency propulsion with a maintenance-free motor. The locomotive and tender are constructed largely of metal and have a close coupling with a guide mechanism. The lighting consists of three-way headlights with warm white LEDs that change over with the direction of travel. A smoke generator (Märklin 72270) can be installed as an option. With a length over buffers of approximately 26.6 cm, this locomotive is an impressive appearance on any model railroad layout.
