Märklin 37040 - Freight Steam Locomotive - BR 50.40 - DB - MFX + Sound
German Federal Railroad (DB) class 50.40 freight train steam locomotive. Rebuilt version with a newly designed high-performance boiler and Franco-Crosti flue gas preheater, Witte smoke deflectors, DB reflex glass lamps, a sandbox mounted upright on the footplate, a side-mounted smokestack, and a rebuilt 2´2´T 26 tender with hatches on the coal bunker. Road number 50 4005. Operating condition circa 1962. Certificate included.

Model: With an mfx digital decoder and extensive sound functions. Regulated high-efficiency motor with a bell-shaped armature and flywheel in the boiler. 5 axles powered. Traction tires. Locomotive and tender constructed primarily of metal. Designed for a 7226 smoke generator on the standard smoke stack. The smoke stack can be closed with a cover when running. Triple headlights change over with the direction of travel, and the smoke generator, which can be retrofitted, operate in conventional operation and can be controlled digitally. The lighting is provided with maintenance-free, warm white LEDs. A close coupling with a mechanism is fitted between the locomotive and tender. A close coupling with an NEM pocket is guided by a mechanism at the front of the locomotive and at the rear of the tender. The coal bunker hatches can be opened and closed mechanically. Minimum radius for operation is 360 mm (14-3/16"). Piston rod protection sleeves are included.
