The LokPilot 5 is the most important member of the LokPilot family and is suitable for almost all issues concerning locomotives with H0 and 0 gauge.

LokPilot 5 decoders are offered with all common interfaces.

Modes

The LokPilot 5 is a true multi-protocol decoder. It supports the DCC, Motorola®, Selectrix®, and M4 data formats. In DCC format, 14 to 128 speed steps are standard, as are 2- and 4-digit addresses and up to 32 functions. Thanks to RailComPlus®, the decoders register fully automatically with a suitable digital control unit.

It supports all DCC programming modes, and thanks to RailCom®, the CV values ​​can be read on the main track using suitable control units. Auxiliary registers are available for control units that can only program CVs from 1 to 255.

Motorola® users benefit from up to 28 speed steps with 255 addresses. Three additional Motorola® addresses enable the activation of 16 functions. A built-in programming mode also allows reprogramming with the proven 6021 Control Unit.

The M4 protocol enables automatic registration with mfx®-compatible control panels. All 32 possible function keys are available here.

The LokPilot 5 decoder recognizes Märklin® braking distances and ZIMO® HLU/ZACK commands or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake modules or DC voltage is also possible. Stopping with a Selectrix® brake diode is also possible. An ABC shuttle train allows automatic commuting between two stations.

The LokPilot 5 decoder can be used on analog DC and AC railways. The decoder switches between operating modes automatically on the fly. Normally, no configuration is required.

Features

We know you want to represent your locomotives as realistically as possible. That's why we've equipped the LokPilot 5 with function outputs. Depending on the interface version, each LokPilot 5 decoder offers at least 10 amplified function outputs, each with an output current of 250 mA. In the versions with a PluX22 or 21MTC interface, 4 additional outputs are added for controlling servos or logic level outputs. All important lighting functions are available. The brightness of each output can be adjusted individually. The decoder supports automatic engagement and disengagement when uncoupling for ROCO®, Krois®, and Telex® couplers.

Motor control

The motor control of the LokPilot 5 has been fundamentally improved again. A variably adjustable PWM clock frequency from 10 kHz to 50 kHz ensures super-quiet operation, especially with bell-shaped armature motors – the typical humming noise is a thing of the past. The load control can now be adjusted to complex applications with up to 10 CVs. The unique "Autotune" function enables automatic tuning of the decoder to the motor. With a motor current of up to 1.5 A, the LokPilot 5 decoder provides sufficient power even with older motors.
